Prof David Woods is a retired neonatologist who worked at Groote Schuur Hospital/University of Cape Town for 35 years. He had a particular interest in fetal growth and the smooth transition from fetal to newborn wellbeing. However, his main passion was teaching, especially midwives and neonatal nurses.

After starting the Perinatal Education Programme, he has now developed Bettercare, a free online training platform which enables healthcare workers worldwide to form study clubs and manage their own continuing education using mobile phones rather than tutors.

Although the core members of the Breast Course for Nurses are listed above, we are made up of a far greater team of professionals that assist us in keeping the Breast Course for Nurses moving forward.

For each course, or any project that we work on, we utilise local professionals within their field to assist with planning, input and lecturing. This allows our courses to remain updated and relevant to those attending.

We provide educational courses and information to a range of healthcare workers, from care workers to registered nurses to doctors and often times, other allied healthcare providers. It is thus important to ensure that we work with local experts about the topics that are covered.
